Koji Press is thrilled to announce the launch of koji:edition, a monthly zine showcasing independent artists and voices all with a unique story to tell.
To launch this project we have teamed up with collage artist Melville to bring you Melville: Tapestries of Life - A Retrospective, a 36 page A4 Zine delving into artist’s career so far.
Melville’s work cuts straight to the bone of British life, not the polished veneers of the modern man, it can only described in a 21st century tapestry as a 10 pints of Stella and kebab type of night, followed by a good scrap in the takeaway. Through his layered collages, he reigns blows to create an unadulterated portrait of modern existence that’s raw, messy, and overflowing with ugly truths.
“Koji Press has given me the invaluable opportunity to document my creative journey in its truest form, without restrictions or filters. Bringing this collection into print has been both a pleasure and a privilege, offering a reflective look at the body of work I’ve produced over the past few years. Above all, this publication is intended to remain accessible: an affordable mob of work for people to collect, share, and engage with.”
